The information supplied is complete and correct, and I acknowledge that the University reserves the right to vary or reverse any decision made on the basis of incorrect and incomplete information.

I accept the Student Exchange Moodle tutorial contains important information on virtual exchange eligibility and requirements. I acknowledge I have read the virtual exchange information and I meet the eligibility requirements and am aware of what virtual exchange entails.

There are two stages to the application process. First where UNSW’s exchange committee will assess my eligibility for the program and second, if nominated where my application will be assessed by the partner university;

If the exchange committee feels that my application does not meet applicable published criteria, my application may be refused;

If nominated, I will be provided with details on the application process for my host university. Once I have applied to the host university, I understand that they have the right to reject my application, or in some cases redirect my application to anothe

I agree to allow the UNSW Learning Abroad Office to share my contact details and email address with the partner university;

I confirm I meet the virtual exchange WAM requirements and understand I am required to maintain my academic level after my nomination

I have checked my study program requirements at UNSW and at my proposed host university. I understand that flexibility is necessary in my study plans, as some courses offered at the time of application at the host university may change in the time between application and enrolment

I am responsible for researching my online course options and selecting courses suitable to my degree. I have been advised to ensure I have back up courses(s) in the event I am not able to enrol into my preferred options;

Credit approval is dependent on my UNSW Faculty and I will need to seek approval for my online course(s) as part of the application process, and before the commencement of my online program.

I am required to get the approval of my UNSW Faculty for all courses I intend to undertake virtually before I enrol at the host university. I understand that it is a condition of my participation that I have agreed with my UNSW Faculty a course of study a course of study at the host univeristy;

I acknowledge that all subjects must be approved by my UNSW Faculty prior to my enrolment at the host university and that failure to do so may result in transfer of credit not being processed by UNSW at the completion of my studies;

I have been advised to undertake an academic progression check with my UNSW Faculty and I am aware of the number of courses needed to complete my degree if I undertake a virtual exchange. I am aware that 24 units of credit remains the maximum I can transfer per half year;

In addition to the above, if I am an international student, I understand I must meet my Australian student visa requirements while undertaking a virtual exchange, along with completing my degree within my confirmation of enrolment (COE) dates. I have checked my UNSW program requirements with my UNSW Faculty/s and I have an approved study plan that allows me to graduate on time;

If I am undertaking a mixture of UNSW courses and online courses at the host university, I am aware that I can only enrol in a maximum of 18 units of credit per UNSW term;

If I take the equivalent of less than 18 units of credit at the host university, I am responsible for enrolling in my UNSW courses at UNSW and ensuring I remain full time at UNSW. I understand that if I choose not to meet the UNSW full time requirements, this may impact on Centrelink or student visa requirements;

By the time of my virtual exchange, I will still have sufficient courses left in my degree and all courses taken on exchange can be credited back to my UNSW degree up to a maximum of 24 UOC per half year;

I am aware that host university semester dates are different to UNSW's term dates and their semester start and end dates will vary. I am expected to complete any online course(s) within the host university timeframes. This may mean some overlap with UNSW;

I am aware there will be time zone differences and I understand special consideration is unlikely to be granted at UNSW due to studying in a different time zone. I am responsible for checking how the course is run, and when the lectures are;

I have been advised to check whether the online teaching mode is synchronous or asynchronous or a mixture of both. If synchronous I understand that I need to be available at the time specified by the host university;

I understand I am responsible for checking that the course is offered fully online and has no face-to-face components;

I understand that online exchange courses count towards the total amount of credit I can receive for exchange and international short courses. For exchange this is a maximum of 48 units of credit. Additional short courses vary per Faculty and I am responsible for confirming this with my Faculty;

I have been advised to undertake a personal safety and risk assessment for my online exchange studies and have considered how it may impact on my UNSW studies and personal circumstances;

I consent to the disclosure of my personal information (including name, student ID, email, host university, host country and terms away) to The Global Society for purposes of administering my application;

As this is a virtual exchange program there is no UNSW travel insurance. I am aware that the UNSW travel insurance policy will not cover me while undertaking virtual studies.
